Summer in Scotland

Ever since I saw a desktop background depicting the Three Sisters hill in Glencoe, Scotland, I have wanted to go. Usually people have more inspiring stories as to why they want to travel somewhere, but that's mine. Don't judge. The summer after I graduated, having saved up, my mom and I boarded our British Airways flight to New York, and then onto London.
Traveling to a different country was one of the most exhilarating experiences I have ever had. I had just turned 18, and had been handed a glass of champagne on the flight over. This was going to be a great trip.
Upon arriving in London, we rented a car, and my mom-very bravely- navigated London traffic as we began our trek to Glencoe. Once on the freeway, it was an easy drive, and I was constantly taking photos.
I was taken aback at how beautiful everything was. We didn't have castles in America, especially not Washington. Everything was so old, and had such a delicate history. Driving past lochs and stone ruins and quaint little cottages hidden between hills was the most profound experience.
Upon seeing the Three Sisters, my breath was taken away. The hills were large, green and dew-ridden in the June air. I had never seen anything quite so beautiful.
