College Student Meals-Healthy? Unlikely

Anyone who has ever been to college knows that food is a struggle. It doesn't help that all the healthy food is expensive and all the really good tasting food is on the dollar menu at McDonalds.
Let me just say, I actually try to be healthy. I go to the gym a few times a week, take multi-vitamins, and eat vegetables when I can. However, I'm also known to get a nugget meal at nine at night when I just want to watch Netflix and then go to bed.
Having my own apartment now has compelled me to make more meals at home, which now forces me to eat a little healthier and saves me money in the long run.
While not crazy healthy, I have found some meals that are cheap, filling and relatively healthy
Disclaimer: ramen is not mentioned.
1: Rice
Rice is actually pretty good for you, especially brown rice. It's easy to make, only requires a small rice cooker or a stove top, and you can pair it with pretty much anything. Rice-A-Roni is super cheap and actually tastes amazing, and one box can hold you off for a few days if you save the leftovers.
2: Chicken
Again, this is something you can pair with anything, and is also a good source of protein. Frozen chicken is cheap and you can save it.
3: Pasta
Carbs-I know, but hear me out. Pasta is pretty filling, cheap and only takes a little while to cook, add some sauce and garlic bread and bam-dinner.
4: Oatmeal
This has been a go to breakfast of mine. You can buy oatmeal anywhere, and theres always different flavors to pick from. Oatmeal with some fruit in the morning is healthy and filling and cheap
5: Sandwiches.
No, not the cold cut wonder bread kind of sandwiches. Sandwiches are easy to prep and you can put anything you want in them. I recommend buying frozen meat, either chicken or pork, and some buns or thick bread-brioche buns are the best and they're not as expensive as you think. Filling and super delicious.
